4/20/26:  What You’re Avoiding Might Be the Key to Your Next Level

We all have it—the thing we avoid.

In my personal life? Phone calls. I will go to the ends of the earth to avoid picking up the phone. Give me email, text, social media—anything but that.

In business, it shows up a little differently.

I avoid reaching out to people or organizations that feel “more established” than me.  I’ll put it off… and put it off… until I can’t anymore.

And do you know when that moment comes?

When I realize my business can’t move forward unless I take that step.

That’s the truth most people don’t want to admit:  The thing you’re avoiding is probably your next step.

I’ve also noticed something else.

The things we feel most stuck in?  They usually create the biggest progress—once we actually do them.

And more often than not… they aren’t nearly as hard as we build them up to be.

I’m going to be honest with you.

By the end of 2027, I want to be making six figures as a Life & Business Strategist.  And by the time my oldest daughter heads to college in 2032, I want to be making $275,000+.

Not for the sake of a number—but for what it represents.  Growth. Freedom. Opportunities for my family.

But here’s what I had to face:

For almost a full year, I was avoiding the very steps that would get me there.

I told myself I wanted to grow…but I kept playing small.

I focused heavily on 1-on-1 coaching because I love the connection. And I still do.

But the reality?

The level of growth I want isn’t built one client at a time.

It requires stepping into bigger rooms and serving larger groups.  Speaking. Leading. Being seen.

And if I’m honest—that scared me.

I didn’t want to lose the personal connection.  I didn’t want the criticism that can come with being more visible.

So I avoided it.

Until I couldn’t anymore.

Because avoiding it was costing me progress.

Now?

I’m still figuring it out.  It’s still uncomfortable.  It’s still a little scary.

But it’s also exactly where my next level is.

So let me ask you-

What are you avoiding right now?

What’s the thing you keep putting off…that you know would actually move you forward?

You don’t need more time.  You don’t need more confidence.

You need to take the step.  Messy, imperfect, uncomfortable steps.

One of my business heroes, Christy Wright, says it best – “Do it scared.”

Because if you wait until you feel ready… you’ll be waiting forever.

What’s one action you’re taking today?
