10/20/25: Recharge & Recover: Finding Balance During the Busy Fall Season
We’ve spent the last couple weeks gearing up for a busy Fall selling season and gaining momentum toward big goals, but let’s remember the importance of recharging and recovering.
Recharging and recovering does not mean losing sight of your weekly, monthly, or quarterly goals, and it is not giving yourself permission to lose focus. What is recharge and recovery? It is an opportunity to give your body and mind a well needed rest and prepare yourself for what is ahead.
What can recharging and recovery look like? It can look like whatever you need it to, really. Recharging and recovery for me looks like cuddling under a blanket in the living room chair with a warm beverage reading or watching sports. It can mean weekend activities with my family. There have been times where my schedule doesn’t really allow for a 24-48 hour recharge so I take two or three hours to go get my nails or hair done. Whatever will fill your cup and reenergize you. Think about the things that bring you comfort or happiness, that reignite your fire when it is time to dive back in.
Now we’ve talked about what that recovery can look like, let’s talk about what it shouldn’t look like. This time is all about disconnecting from the people and tasks that drain your battery-toxic relationships (personal or professional), work, it could even mean disconnecting from social media for a day or two. It is key that your recovery time is “scheduled” for a time where you can truly turn off what distracts and drains and plug into whatever allows you to regain what has been taken from you.
You are entering a season where you will struggle to step away for a few hours or a couple days, especially if you are experiencing success and momentum, but remember, business is a marathon, not a sprint. The holiday season is important, but it is not your entire business.
It will also be tempting to pour every ounce of yourself into work this time of year, but there are people outside business that want and deserve your time and energy. Make sure you are recharging and recovering so you can serve them. These are most likely the people who are your biggest cheerleaders in business, so forgetting to prioritize them in this season will affect your mental well being down the road…speaking from personal experience.
Take some time to find your balance between that fall hustle, family, and sanity. When January rolls around, you’ll be thankful you didn’t pour all of yourself into one aspect. How will you recharge and recover?
If you aren’t sure how to manage your time and strike that balance, be sure to grab “Manage Your Time, Don’t Let It Manage You.” It is a self-paced time management training with a worksheet, and only $29!
