8/25/15: How to Set Your Social Selling Business Up for Fall Success

If you are part of a social selling business, you have heard that Fall is the best time to be in business.  I promise, if you are in social selling, you have told your customers that Fall is the best time to host and earn rewards.  Why is this the best time of year to bring your “A game”?  Because 30-40% of Americans have shifted their shopping habits and begin shopping as early as July.  Not only do they shop early, but over half want to shop online.  This is where you come in as a social seller-here are a few tips for setting your social selling business up for success this Fall!

  1. Create a plan.  Do not think you can just stumble into September/October without goals and a clear strategy and it will just happen for you.  It won’t!  This season can be very taxing if you have BIG goals, but balance that with a family and possibly another job.  Know what your target is-X number of parties or $X of sales and reverse engineer.
  2. Capitalize early!  Seriously, every social seller who is even a little in touch with their business is trying to make the most of that September-December selling season, and if you decide to hang back and wait until November, people will be partied out.
  3. Let your plan include an in person event or two.  People love instant gratification and if you can get in a low overhead event where you can share your product NOW, that would be incredible.  This is also a way to get connected for future events.
  4. Remember your shipping deadlines.  When I was in social selling, I tried to cut off 2-3 days before the company told me I should.  Your top goal as a social seller should be to provide a top notch customer experience, and if someone orders a Christmas gift and it doesn’t get there on time, even though the corporate said it would, they will hold that experience against you.  This is another good reason to capitalize early.

Selling in January and February are tough, so if you want to set your business up for success, pack that fall calendar.  A busy fall can lead to a steady winter and a sense of comfort that many others in your field may not get to experience.

I’d love for you to share some of the things that have been most successful for your direct sales company in the fall selling season!
