8/11/25: The Cost of Chaos: Why Structure Sets You Free

Did you happen to notice I missed a week of blogging and emails?  That just goes to show what life is like these days.

See, I’ve been in a season of life that caused my balance to shift heavily toward family and light toward work…like really light.  Not only did I begin the 10-week advanced ILT Academy cohort, but poker season is back in full swing.  On top of that, my daughters participated in the summer musical which is a BIG time commitment.  Those two weeks were fantastic, watching them do something that fills their cup, and being able to share my time and volunteer.  There was not a moment while I was “in it” that I was sorry I wasn’t working…but then the hour after the final performance, it hit me and I realized, I need to get back on track.  You see, although I enjoyed those two weeks, the cost of chaos was structure and deliberate efforts in my business.

Life and business require flexibility and knowing the unexpected will happen.  Chaos builds character, it challenges critical thinking skills, and it makes us more adaptable…but structure, oh structure is glorious and key as you are launching, building, and growing a business.  You see, structure, specifically time management and time blocking, set you free!

Sunday, after I took a deep breath, I peeked at all things Balance & Business and realized how off course I had gotten – incomplete goals, no August content, no blogs written, no emails crafted.  But this just shows that balance does not ensure everything gets equal time.  Balance means everything gets the right amount of time for the moment of life you are in.  When the chaos settles, give yourself a moment to catch your breath, and then reset that structure.  Design a new course and get ready to roll!  On that note, my girls return to school next week and I am ready to get back to the routines!!

Are you ready for August?
