12/22/25: Before You Unplug, Set Yourself Up for a Stress Free Holidays
If you are like me, you are about ready to call it a year. There are just a few things you should take care of before you hang up the “closed” sign and give yourself a well earned break.
First, if customers, clients, vendors, or partners were expecting something before the holidays, make sure you have followed through. If you aren’t meeting the set expectation, be sure to communicate with the other party before vacation starts.
Next, let everyone who may need to reach you know you are out of the office (even if the office is home). This can include updating an email auto reply, updating a voicemail, or sharing something to your social media channels.
Make sure you have done your “End of the Year Wrap Up” so you start 2026 with a clean slate. If you aren’t sure what this entails, go back and read the December 8th blog or download a FREE copy of the “End of Year Wrap Up” Checklist.
Eventually you’ll be returning to work and you don’t want to be fumbling around with what to do. Before you “clock out” make your to do list for the first day you return. Remember, if you truly separate yourself from business for a week or two, you will spend a good amount of time returning calls and emails so don’t fill your plate too full.
Once you’ve set yourself up for a stress free holiday and easy transition into 2026, feel free to unplug and enjoy! You worked hard this year and you deserve it.
